Ava DuVernay (Selma, 13th) is making history as the first black woman to make a $100 million movie with Disney’s live-action adaptation of Madeline L’Engle‘s 1962 novel A Wrinkle in Time.  Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a few first-look images from the film.  Check out the photos below!

A Wrinkle In Time revolves around a young girl whose government scientist father has gone missing after working on a mysterious project called a ‘tesseract,’ which involves being transported to a fifth dimension with mysterious inhabited planets. She takes part in a search for her father and sees some incredible creatures along the way. Winfrey will play the role of Mrs. Which, the most mysterious of the three unusual beings who arrive to help Meg and Charles Wallace find their missing father.

We’re excited to see the film and extra excited to see the adaptation through DuVernay’s masterful eye! Wrinkle In Time will hit theaters April 6, 2018.
